He is married with grown children and grand children that he is actively teaching to love toyotas. by profession he is an over the road truck driver, but loves to spend time in the shop wrenching or fabbing on one of his many projects, as well as now trying to fit in a blog and a podcast. jason is a member of “SOUTH EAST TOYOTA LAND CRUISERS’, ‘SOUTHERN 4WD’, and other off road clubs and promotes responsible wheeling. jason is also interested in the preservation and restoration of classic toyotas.
Rich has been active in the off-road community for only ten years, but it’s been an intensive and immersive time since he first purchased an FJ Cruiser new in 2008. Since then, he’s rapidly worked himself into the off road industry and covered many miles.
By 2012, he’d become president of the largest Toyota based club in the Northeast United States – the FJ Northeasters.
He then went on to study, train and practice hard enough to attain the status of I4WDTA Certified Off Road Driving & Recovery Trainer. On top of that, he also became and a Tread Lightly! Tread Trainer.
Rich still travels all over the United States, and has visited 44 of the United States in his Toyota, and most of those involved some form of off-roading.
Andy bought his 1st Toyota in 1999 – an ’86 mini truck. The next one was in 2004, an ’83 Land Cruiser 60 series. In 2010, Andy picked up an FJ Cruiser that he still has. In 2016, he aquired an ’78 Land Cruiser 40 series.
Andy still misses the 60 series and hopes to some day have another one.
Andy is GSMTR chairman in the Southeast Toyota Land Cruiser Association, which hosts the Great Smoky Mountain Trail Ride. His wife of 20 years enjoys wheeling almost as much as he does. Andy primarily explores TN, AL & and his home state of GA. For his day job, Andy works as an aftermarket auto parts wholesaler.
Toyota Trucks and Trails Podcast was formed in Dec’ 2015 by Jason Hoffman.
Rich joined soon after, and in 2018 Andy Scott joined the team.
